Hike and Write April 2010

Blogged by: Kyle Hamblin

Spring is the perfect time to go hiking. Allamuchy Pondtrail is where I got to experience my five senses in hiking.

The Mountain Villa School in Allamuchy sits on the front of a beautiful trail head.

To start we walked down to a bench that sat on a big lake. When you are hiking you can feel the sticks pushing in on the soul of your shoes. The ground was muddy and covered with the roots of big trees. While we were walking the mud was splashing out from under our feet.

As we moved uphill we saw the vines of growing grapes
and a Mamma and baby swan.
we also saw geese, rotten tree branches and cool rocks! As we approached the bridge on the trail we could hear the rushing water as it dropped off the dam and also the sound of geese squeal. You could smell the mildew in the water.

Finally we headed back. The view of the school made the hike more beautiful.

If you are the kind of person that loves nature then go hiking at the Mountain Villa School. Going to the Mountain Villa School was one of my favorite hiking experiences.
